What do "we" think of this?

I just picked my new trailer up tonight. I love it, but was a bit taken aback that the floor is plastic. I just assumed (I know, I'm a dilbert) that it was aluminium....largely because the old owner thought it was too.

I assume they are tested stringently and all, but the sticker on the inside of the jockey door says "in case of uneven loads......distribute carefully". Hmm....how else can you put a horse in? On it's back, legs in the air?

Bit late now I've already bought said trailer. The blurb states that is guaranteed against rot etc for the lifetime of the trailer. It's very quite and I assume it absorbs some of the "road noise" too.

They have had this type of floor for years, ive never come accross anyone who has had any problems with them

My local stockists who sells all trailer types ifor, richardson bateon etc really rates them and says they are excellent

Shall I show you a picture? I'm like a proud mummy! I'm sure they're safe, I was just taken aback as I've never heard of a plastic floor in a trailer.

I love my car....although I want to swap the stereo and can't get any adaptor thing to work the steering wheel mounted controls. I refuse to have those controls sat there and not be able to use them!

Lucky you.
I used to have the same trailer but with the wooden floor, I loved it apart from damn horse wouldnt stay in it (or any trailer) so ended up selling it. I found it much better to tow than the Ifor and theres so much more room at the front. Just wanted to mention if you take the centre partition out (I had to travel mine with full length bars instead) then be aware of the centre pole attachment on the roof. My horse nearly caught his head on it pratting arround. They may well have changed the design but just thought it worth mentioning. It wouldnt be a problem with the partitions left in though.

There is no problem with 'plastic' floors. My Bateson Deauville had one & it caused no problems at all. Under certain circumstances aluminium can corrode so your better off with 'plastic'

Thanks so much. I got the impression that aluminium wasn't as maintenance free as I had believed it would be and that plastic must be a new development.

It just doesn't sound heavy duty when you say the words out loud!

So basically, my fabulous deal for my new trailer just got even better? I really do feel like I've robbed my dear farrier (who I've bought it from).

Hey Patches do you want to swap?

I bought my 3 year old trailer secondhand last year and it had been resprayed to match the owners BMW - it doesn't go with my blue disco tho
