Hi at the tender age of 31 i have just had my second riding lesson. After having two children in the last three years i felt the time was right to give it ago. I'd been wanting to ride for a few years but was waiting really for the right time. I think am i doing ok did three short canters in the second lesson and i think i just might be hooked. Every chance i get i'm reading about horses, watching them on you tube or reading through some magazine. I love reading through the forum's and absorbing all the horsey info. It is quite strange that after only two lessons I have this thirst for everything horsey. Is this normal?

Perfectly normal

It's when you start getting withdrawal symptoms from not being around horses you have to worry

Totally normal, when i started riding again at 21 i felt like i had 'come home.' Never happier than when i'm in my jods with my neddies, no matter what crap life throws at you they are always there. Its not just a hobby or an interest its a way of life, enjoy!!

Hi
I'm 37 and after a few of riding school riding, I bought my first horse earlier this year and am even more obsessed now!!
I think I have become a bore to my non-horse friends, but I really don't care!

Just enjoy it!

I too took up riding again last year after 20 odd years and love it. I am about to take on a loan pony, but the feeling of euphoria has changed to complete panic, doubting my ability. I really want to do this, and if I don't feel I will have let myself down.
