Heading off to Blair tomorrow with my saved up pennies and intending to buy a new hat however, wondering whether to opt for a skull cap this time.

What do you find is best and do you have any recommendations on make, style, etc?

I mostly school and hack (which includes jumping X-country jumps) and do the odd competition.

My old hat has been in too many falls and seems to be very loose on my noggin so needing to be replaced!!

if you want to do XC jumps then I would go for a skull cap as if you ever wanted to do a XC comp then you cant have a hat with a fixed peak due to damage to your neck if you fell.

champion skull caps are good, the ventair skull caps with leather straps are lovely!
Edited due to shocking grammer!

One that fits properly would be my advice, but then I have a funny shaped head and practically the only one I found that fitted properly , after trying about 20 different ones, was a Champion skull which I use with a velveteen cover like Mattilda

Ditto wot Dubsie and Mattilda said. A skull cap covers you for all comps/events. I've got a champion ventair (with leather) and it's the most comfortable hat I've ever had. It was also the only one that was a good fit for me, but it depends on the shape of your head.
