Just bought a saddle that was described as new, it arrived and there is a gad awful mark right over the cantle and the leather looks kinda stretched. **Also just measured from the front staple to the middle of the cantle and its 16.5inches and not 17!! NOT AMUSED NOW!

Yes it is a Worldbeater Saddle, but I had one before and it was in a MUCH better condition. I dont want to(also cant as no way of getting it to post office etc) return it so do u think it would be cheeky for me to ask the seller to refund some of the price of it?
Here is the marks:

personally yes, I would ask for a partial refund. if they refuse (I presume this is ebay) then see about claiming all the money back.
Ps...2 pints of lager...i love that programme!!

Cant get to post office as Dont drive, and my mum refuses to come into town to get it to then take it for me when im at work. Its a pain as I could wait till Bruce gets home but thats 5 weeks......a bit long!

Nah I would keep it, just that if I ever did want to resell it I wouldnt get very much for it cos I would be honest and show the seat etc.
Hmm, had wondered why they hadnt left feedback for me! I guess this must be why so that If I neg them, they Neg me!

Why not just ask them for their comments on the misrepresentation and if nothing happens within a few days contack ebay and report it - If they have 100% feedback I'm sure they will want to protect that! On the flip side if Ebay agree with you it will be necessary to return it to the seller anyway. Can you send it from work and reimburse your employer?

As a seller i don't usually put feedback on until my buyer has done so, to indicate that the item has arrived and they are happy with it..nothing too unusual there. I think you could try for a refund, the cosmetic thing on the seat is one thing, but if it is the wrong size that is indisputable

I would give her a day or two to reply and if she doesnt open a not as described claim, if you paid with paypal you will have a better chance of getting your money back

Have been contacted, and they would like to know what I think would be a fair Part refund. The saddle was £70, p&p was £15.
Now I know it was a cheap saddle, but I have shown a few horsey peeps who said that looking like it is they wouldnt pay more than £30 for it...........So should I ask for £40?

I don't mean to be rude or offensive in any way, but you do get what you pay for, even on Ebay. New or not, I would not be expecting a perfect looking saddle for a price of £70. I'd actually be quite happy with the external appearance for that price. Seat size is a separate issue though.

I've not heard of Worldbeater saddles personally, but if this is how the outside of the saddle is finished (which again, isn't bad for the money), it would make me question the build quality inside, especially around the tree.

If it was me, I think I would have to send it back even if I had to pay for a taxi to get to the Post Office. Don't some courier companies (like City link etc) collect parcels from your door anyway?

Why would you want to keep a saddle thats not as described, the wrong size, and damaged (to an extent). This seems crazy.

Return it and get a full refund, use the money for something that is suitable.

Phone a courier company and they will collect from your house if necessary.

We once bought one off ebay and they are cheap and nasty saddles I'm afraid.
I tried to return ours but the seller agreed then kept it for over three months whilst I rang/wrote, emailed etc. Eventually he sent me the same saddle back!!!
I ebayed it again, lost money and learned the lesson of you get what you pay for...
Better buy a second hand one locally than one unseen.
We have since bought several good named saddle off ebay but the cheapies seem just that, cheap. The named ones like Albion/Sue Carson etc have been fine.
I would go on the fact it isn't the size you expected and ask for a full refund..

As a seller i don't accept partial refunds, if someones not happy with what i've sold them i accept full refunds. Partial refunds can get messy, as a seller (not saying this as happened) i don't know if the buyer has damaged the item unintentionally or accidentily, or they're just trying to get the item for less money when its perfectly ok.

Fortunately i've only had 2 things ever sent back to me, if i've advertised it wrong i accept that, accept the return/refund and everyones happy!

Surely you saw pics of the saddle before buying it though?? I not then we live and learn

I have bought several saddles off e-bay. All have been fine...however most didnt fit!!!

I f getting it to the Post Office is a problem you can go onto the other main post van peoples website (pf!!) and enter details, pay online AND they will collect it from your door!

Also if the seller refuses to accept issues re the condition and/or the size follow the links from e-bay and begin a dispute.
Did you pay via paypal?? Or use a credit card?? Both of these make it easier for ebay to recover your money.
However always give the seller chance to put things right first....i dont think you can open a dispute via e-bay for 10 days anyway!!
