Had the saddler out today and now Bert has a new saddle!

It looks very plush despite being a lowly synthetic. It is the Wintec vsd 500 in lovely brown, it looks soo much better than the black one he had. I am very pleased but poor as needed extra gullet, girth and sheepskin half pad to tweek the saddle.

I needed the white one but have bought it now with the saddle

at least it means I can get back riding!

Do you find that sits nicely on him? I had the VSD on Patches and she had an extra wide gullet in it. Fitted lovely at the front and sat level on her back. However, the cantle end of the gullet was still a medium fitting as you only widen it at the front. It meant it rolled across her spine back and forth, in trot.

Shame you didn't like black. I could've given you a Black VSD, with three gullets, leathers, grith, irons and gullet guide for a bargain price!

(I was keeping it to back a youngster with a friend but plans changed drastically)

It seems to fit relatively well and the saddler was thorough...

Bert is actually not that wide *shock* he is between a white widest fitting and the one narrower than that. His biggest problem is his shoulder which is very well developed being a goddam carthorse

Fits nicely and doesn't impeed the shoulder but is a little lower than perfect at the front but nothing a thick polypad doesn't fix. Have bought a sheepskin half pad to just lift it away a tad and am quite happy with it.

I have a saddle company fitter coming out on Friday. I had a sit on the dressage saddle and fell in love with it. Thinking about getting the working hunter one as I want something straighter cut but not so much as the dressage. I thought about the wintec but had the same problems as you are describing.
