Saddler was out today and confirmed my suspicions that the bargain VSP saddle no longer fits ponio properly, but fantastically, it does fit the big 3 year old girl!

So, it was Gully to be fitted for a new saddle and I have ended up with a Barnsby APS Dressage saddle which fits him beautifully and is soooo comfy. The slight bonus is that the retired pasture ornament's old GP/jumping saddle will fit Gully too with a tiny bit of reflocking, as it is very flat, so no probs with only having a dressage saddle, as I will be able to use the GP to jump in! Hurrah!! Now only have to come with the lolly to pay for the new one!!

Anyone else have APS saddle and what do you think?

Don't have one, but wanted to say Yipee for good saddle outcome

Thank-you! Apparently the old one would have been pinching his shoulder a fair bit, so we have now reached the end of the check back / saddle / teeth road to make sure that he will go forward freely.....if he doesn't want to now, then we KNOW it's because he's a lazy oaf!!

Have to say, he felt like a different horse today while I was trying all the correctly fitting saddles - I actually had to half halt him quite a bit - unheard of! He felt so much more free in front

(Any excuse to post a picture)

Hope you enjoy yours too.

fab news, I got a saddle fitted yesterday, Im still beaming ear to ear because of how differently my hose went in it, Its not the most expensive in the world but it did the trick

Ooh, I'm pleased you like yours!

When I first got on it today, I felt an awful long way off the horse as it seems to have quite a high pommel, but the more I rode in it, the more I like it. I also liked the Jeffries Falcon Hawk close contact event saddle that I tried, but I have always wanted a dressage saddle, and since my old jumping saddle fits Gully too, there didn't seem to be much point buying the event saddle.

Well done - I like good saddle news.

I am v pleased too this week as Chum's VSD fits new pony Toby (for now, expecting him to change shape quite a bit with work) so means I can get on with my flatwork - he came with a lovely WH but I need more support for my rubbish riding
