Nearly fell off yesterday as new saddle is so slippery:o. Should I get sticky jods or will cleaning saddle make it tackier? I don't want to spray that sticky stuff on it really.

Not ideal being this easily ejected on a youngster :o:D

If sticky jods are a good idea, which are the best make?

I rode a horse once who's saddle had sticky pads on the underneath that should theoretically stop it slipping (woman who owned the horse I was riding decided to put a saddle cloth on as well even though that prevents the sticky pads from not working!).

I would suggest my ever faithful Heather Moffett seat saver would solve the problem ;)

Are you offering a loan of it then :D:p. Having just spent 1460 on the flipping thing I feel it shouldn't need a seat saver!!lol

It's the seat that's slippy ie I nearly fell off as the horse cat leapt a log and launched me into orbit. Was wearing my mountain horse trousers which don't probably help but I just had jods on today and it still felt like I may slide off any second lol

I have a few different makes of sticky bum breeches and johds, I find the 'clarino' seat ones are probably the best, although I have two pairs with sticky spots and they work pretty well. One of the sticky spots ones are caldene and the other are Loveson I think.

Thanks. I am going to try some out tomorrow hopefully!
