So I currently have a Wintec 500 GP for my young horse, fits brilliant and I love riding in it.

I am in the process of buying a new saddle for competing only as I will stick to my current saddle for hacking, we do low level jumping, working hunter and a bit of showing and dressage.

My budget is £500 and although I had always thought stick with what you know I have started reading reviews and I am also looking at the Thorogood GP and possibly the Optimus - leather version.

So what would you do:

1. Stick with the Wintec 500
2. Upgrade to a Wintec 2000
3. Thorowgood T4
4. Optimus - Leather

Saddle will be used for showing as well so will be in Brown.

Opinions please............are the TG and Op a similar fit?

Thanks for reading

For £500 I would be going for the best quality second hand leather one I could fine.

Find a local saddler who has a good selection and take it from there
