Hi all :)

I had a too good to miss opportunity last week, so now we are part sharing a pretty little chestnut mare for my 12 year old daughter.

Bonnie had been very sadly outgrown by her owner, but they can' t bare to sell her so this suits us all.

Charlotte is very happy, I had always said she had to wait until she was 14 to have her own, and I think this will give her lots of valuable experience for when she does finally get a pony, and also show her how much dedication and care the pony requires. She has been riding quite a few years now, and was in the teenagers class at her riding school. I have arranged to have her instructor out to give her lessons on Bonnie, and she will be joining the local branch of pony club.

Here's to happy pony days!

How exciting :D

They look like they'll have lots of fun together!

My first pony was on loan, but after a few months of being driven mad by overprotective owners, we offered to buy her, and by that point, they were happy with how we were looking after her so sold :)

ps- pony club pony camp- a must! :D

Aww! I hope that they have a lot of fun together.Sometimes,it's the children who have had to want and wait for a pony who put the most in,they know how lucky they are. I agree that PC Camp is a must.My two said it was better than the best holiday they'd ever had.:D

Just a little update a few weeks in :)
Bonnie and Charlotte are having great fun! They have been out on a proper hack with girls from the yard, and only one mishap after a few excited bucks on the first group canter lol.
Charlotte had a great lesson on Bonnie yesterday so will be busy with her homework in the school too :). Her owner is going to take her out today as she has been a little nappy and turning for home when I walk out with them but is a sweet pony and just takes a little encouragement.

Lovely to hear they are having fun. We've always found that it can take 3-4 months to get to grips with a new pony,at which point they've run through their repetoire of tricks and settle down.

A little update :). On Sunday bonnies owner kindly took them along to local pony club show :)

A great day was had .

Bonnies owner rode her in 2ft 3 and came 2nd, and in pairs with a friend and won :)

Charlotte had a double clear in 2ft after not hearing the whistle lol, and a clear round rosette :)

Big smiles all round, Bonnie certainly got very excited at the show so Charlotte found her more challenging, but loved every minute :)

A sad update :( Bon went lame in the week after the show :(. After 2 vet visits and 3 weeks she went into the vet and is back there on Monday for more tests.

The vet suspects she has suspensory ligament damage, Monday will reveal more hopefully. Poor Bon :(

Last week a vacancy came up at the yard for a mare, so I am now paying livery to keep the place whilst I pony hunt for Charly. I have 2 possibilities to view but am in no hurry, and bonnies owner is still letting us get our pony fix in the meantime.
