Wracking my brains to think of I’ve ever ridden a TB! Tips advice and thoughts. Ridden a TBxPRE she was nice but very long stride!

How far a long is the tb in retraining? I tend to ride my tb in a looser rein as he’s early enough in his retraining and speeds up a lot otherwise!
My boy is very smart and sensitive only needs light aids and a light hand as is very responsive! But needs a confident rider as I’d say he takes his confidence from his rider but he is only 5!

I think JBM’s point is a good one. Do you know how long the horse is into retraining, and how many races they ran?

I tried one TB who was extremely hot and sensitive and you had to canter in a light seat, but I tried another yesterday who had only raced three times (lost two and came second to last in the other one!) who was definitely more “woah” than “go”.

Thanks for replies. I’m jinxed though he was kicked in the field and is now on box rest sporting a couple of stitches! Been out of racing a couple of years and is a good lad.

Update on potential share he’s sound. Never raced and I met him last week. He’s gorgeous. Hopefully spending some time with him soon.
