v v excited as new stables have been started but the builder says we should be adding something to the concrete when the base is laid to make it resistant to horse pee , does anyone have any idea what this stuff is and do we really need it?

yes it is an acid inhibitor! Esstential or your concrete will ruin and wear away very quickly. Too late if your concrete has already been layed though. Your groundworker should have advised you. 6" of hardcore and 6" of concrete needed and if you are going to drive tractors over it you need steel mesh!

when you order the concrete tell them what its for and they make the mix stronger at a tiny bit more ££££££`s.

Old stable has been dug out and rubber matting is a god send!!! Thanks alot hon really appreciated

Dave says that you can get the surface of the concrete coated with a resin layer which can be bought from specialists and painted on. He'll find the contact details and let you know. He also recons that even without the concrete should last a fair few years!!! See you soon, maybe a drinky!!
