New strange behaviour

My seven year old castrated WelshTerrier has recently taken to stealing pillows from the beds, dragging it in to the hallway and not to put too fine a point on it... humping it for minutes on end. Its not always the same pillow and he doesnt do it if he thinks we can see him

He has never shown any very male behaviour before and has never before removed furnishings or even jumped on the beds before

Is this normal? Should i be worried that he has some sort of imbalance somehow?

Is he castrated? if not I would go to the vets as can be a sign of testicular cancer.

I have no idea but know 2 bitches that hump (usually other dog)
I'd still go to vets and get blood tests maybe

Yes he was castrated as a puppy/youngster

I may well nip him down to the vets as you both suggest

Husband has suggested its boredom as its been so rainy but the dog has had the same amount of exercise as normal
