Hi to all. Just thought I would introduce myself to you all.
I have one horse, a 16.2 tbx secD hes bay and 8 this year. I dont compete much, do a wee bit dressage and some clinics with the local RC. Just done my NVQ level 2 and about to start my level 3.
Have two kids (one of each) two dogs, (0ne big one little) and a husband (only one of those though)
I live in Scotland, way north, hate it this time of year as we get snow, love it the rest of the time though.
Biggest hate in the world....snow, most loved.... my family and animals.
Thats about it. I have read the posts on here loads of times before, but I am now looking forward to joining in a wee bit xx

Yeh we have snow as well, had showers all week. Bit of a breeze though so it is shifting slowly. No idea what it is like at the yard though as I have sick kids today so I had to stay at home with them, but it has bee hellish to get to it in the mornings as there has been a fresh fall every night and the gritters are slow to do the roads I use.
Take it your a member of MRC then ?

Gritters what gritters?

i've not seen one all week even on the A96. I was a member of mrc but at the moment am not. I stop competing when my pony willie (bay in siggy) was found to have equine epilepsy, that was 6 years ago. I am hoping to be out again with my young mare maddie(dapple grey in siggy) at the end of the year or next season. she just about to came back into work after a year off

Do you came down to burgie for the 3 day?

yeh I do indead come to the Burgie. I will be there this year as I am grooming at it. You planning the RC 3 day then ? I too was MRC. I didn't do anything last year as my lad is very green and I never ever do the social things. Where do you keep your horses if you dont mind me asking?
I hope we have seen the last of the snow now and it turns to rain with a rise in temp, it is thawing a wee bit, but not much, I got caught in it on monday and only just got my wee car to get up some of the hills!!! As I said before this place is great in summer but hell in winter.
You would be Moray coast or kessock vets then. Im a bad person I use them both!! Im glad they have helped get your mare well again, hope to see you out and about over the season.

Hello there! Looking forward to seeing pics - 16.2 Sec D x sounds lovely! (I have a SecD & a SecD x WB so you can tell I'm a Welshie fan) Is he chunky or fine?

hoping to do the RC at burgie next year maybe

I have DIY livery at a farm in between garmouth and kingston, i use allan and mattews vets in elgin (next to asda) who's your farrier? do you have as many problems as we do with farriers?

where do you stable your horse?

I stable at a yard just outside Nairn, hence why I have probs with the roads. No probs with my farrier, All but one horse with us are done by Thez Barret. I think he is very good at his job, my horse had terrible feet when I got him, but they are looking so much better now.
Have to admit I did not see much of the international xc last year as I was grooming for two horses. I saw Ian Stark on the friday when we were walking the course, but I never set eyes on any eye candy!! I just hope the weather is better this year as it was beyond wet last year.

if the don't make a profit!!
We have Tom batler for a farrier he is really good most of the time!! we've been very unlucky with farriers think we had most of them at one time or the other. we've had tom for a year now he is amercan but has just been approved but the brittish farriers ass (well I think that what he said the other week)

Do you know the friesains at culloden?

I know of the friesains, but I dont know who owns them.
I heard whisperings along those lines as well. None of the really big names came last year though did they? And with the weather being so wet last year and so hot the year before that it hasnt been of much help, shame really as it is a nice friendly event.

they tryed to say the big names didn't came up because of WEG being the same year. i don't think that had anything to do with it!! after speaking to some of the riders last year they said it is costing them more every year to came up here and most of them take 12 hours or more to get up here. so why would they came up here when longleat is on the same week with the same class and you only have to look who was there last year that normal would have came up to burgie. Its time burgie did something to get them up here better prize money would do it!!!!
