Hi all, we are in the process of buying our new horse Nina. She is 16.2 Irish Sports Horse. I have ridden from the age of 3 to my early twenties and then gave up and had a family. My daughter who is 14 now has ridden for ten years now and has been nagging for a horse in those ten years. She is now a very competent rider and I have run out of reasons why she can't have one and secretly I am very excited at getting back in the saddle.

My daughter Piper is keen to start competing with her own horse and I am keen to just hack and a bit of schooling and spoiling her (my jumping days are over). We are just awaiting the results from the second strangles test as the first one showed something so needed to be redone. Please god let them be clear.

Fingers crossed as we have secured her a nice stable and bought her loads of bits already.

Look forward to picking everybodies brain on here. Clare

I hope all is well with the testing and horsey comes home soon ...but you should be warned that although you think this mother/daughter share will work out fine I have a sneaky suspicion that mum will have her own horse as well by this time next year because its so nice to ride out with one another. I am speaking from experience and three years now of winter mucking out and caring for teenaged daughters horse as well as my own... it s fab!
