New to hunting....

Hey all.... I am making a bizarre change from Show Jumping to Hunting as a new job....? Can anyone fill me in on details, i.e. dress code, season dates, events etc???

I am totally new to this?

the dress code seasons and dtes all vary depending on your hunt and time of year!
If you want to pm i can tell you most of what you need to know! I work for the hunt, after years of showjumping!

main season traditionally starts on the closest hunting day to the 1st november, but autumn hunting starts as soon as harvest is over and the farmers give the all clear.
dress code for autumn hunting is a hacking jacket, shirt and tie. beige jods, navy/black velvet hat cover, hairnet or suitably fastened hair, plain tack, numnah, girth etc, stick or hunting whip (useful for gates and keeping the hounds from under your horse) and unplaited but smart. for the main season a navy or black jacket a cream or white stock depending on your jacket (cream for navy, white for black) matching hat silk, plaited, and the rest is the same as cubbing.
the most important thing of all is your hipflask and choccy supply! (esp hipflask and remember to share it round!)

thanks for the help.... i have very little knowledge of hunting...so this is all new to me! I've always done show jumping???
