Not sure what you do and don't know but here we go...

Ring the secretary (not sure which is your local hunt?) and ask for details on the best day to go for a newcomer, check that they can accomidate another visitor. Then find out how much the cap is.

You need to wear navy/black jacket, stock, beige/cream jods and black/brown long boots or chaps.

Plait the pony for your first time, remember to say good morning to everyone and goodnight when you leave (even if it isn't night). Get out the way for hounds/whips etc, whenever the hounds are coming toward you face the hounds, as our master says a kick is worse than a bite!

If there's anything else you need to know just ask, other than that though have a fab time!

You need to wear navy/black jacket, stock, beige/cream jods and black/brown long boots or chaps.

If you are a member of the Pony Club, then check with your DC, many hunts organise specific Junior meets aimed solely at introducing newcomers to the hunting field, due to icy conditions over Christmas some of these have been rescheduled for the February half-term. If not then the hunt secretary or DC will know of someone who can buddy you for the first time out and guide you through what is happening.

As for dresscode, if you are under 18 then you will be expected to be in ratcatcher, i.e a tweed jacket with either a hunt shirt and coloured stock or a shirt and tie, cream or beige jodhs, an approved hard hat rather than a hunt cap. Short boots and chaps are fine.

If you are under 25, you will also generally qualify for a vastly reduced cap.
