I posted afew weeks ago about my mare showing signs of being in season after first scan, well she had her heartbeat scan last tues, and all it well!

So to my question, the vet that scanned he (not my usual vet) didnt say anything about another scan, so is that it wait 10 months? Of course unless i fear anythings wrong?

Thanks.

Depends on the stallion's terms: most include (after NFFR) the words '30 October'. THAT means if your mare is not in foal on 30th October you get a free return next year - but if she loses it AFTER that, you don't!

So in these cases it's wise to scan just before 30th October so - if the worst HAS happened and she has lost the pregnancy - you can notify the stallion owner and safeguard your free return.

I have my own stallion so don't bother scanning after the heartbeat scan UNLESS I suspect a problem.

Thanks for that. We oinly just bought the mare as soon as she was covered, so it was a chance to just take her and see whats happened. Suppose we just wait now, unless anything goes wrongs. Thanks again.
