Hello,
Im new here, I recently bought my first horse..
She is 15 years old, I started riding her at a riding school, where i learnt to ride, i have been riding about a year so i am new to this.. i fell in love with my horse, now I am her owner but I need to move her from the yard she has been used at since the age of 4 years old.
The reason I have to move her is because I no longer want her to work and they only offer working livery at that yard.
i dont want her to work anymore id like her for myself and to have a relaxed life.

I am concerned about the move and how it will effect her..
If anyone has any helpful information id much appreciate it 😊

Hello, welcome to the forum.
The introductions section of the forum isn't always very busy so if you don't get a lot of advice you could try a thread in "tackroom".

Congratulations on your first horse. May you have many happy years together.

For my two pennyworth , look first at the people you will have around you when you move. Everyone looks at fields, stables, parking, hacking etc but at your level of experience the humans are very important.

At the moment you have free advice (about feed, tack, medical questions etc) on site, instruction in riding, company to ride out with, and importantly, the other riders will be preventing your horse from getting fat, bored & uppity.
You will need to lay on all these things where you move to.

Especially please bear in mind your horse might need quite a lot of exercise to remain the calm amenable girl that you know now.

Good luck with her.
😁
