Wednesday my loaner noticed she was burning up around the back leg/tummy area, her ears werent hot or cold just normal, she is eating normally and doesnt seem to be out of charecter so we left her in that night & i checked her later that night & morning but she was fine. Tonight apparently the same has happened but also sweating around the girth area but she hasnt done any work today .. ive trowled through the net and cannot find anything that relates to this symptom - am really worred -

any advice anyone??? Many thanks EmmaJ

No she hasnt been clipped because in Nov she started to drop weight so I left it. (shes like a teddy bear!! lol) she is also 19 & rides no more then 3 times a week light hacking.

It could well be the rise in temps. My 30 year old was getting sweaty pits standing in the stable. He is retired and unclipped.

What was her bed like this morning - was it as normal or trashed? Has she dunged, is it of her normal type and how many during the night? Is there any heat or swelling around the areas you mention? I would perhaps be thinking on the lines of having a chat with my vet and maybe getting bloods done if you have ruled out the usual, i.e. colic, change of feed, back pain etc. Do let us know how you get on, and welcome to the forum

I have been bringing her in during the day for extra hay as fields are still alittle wet but majority of the time she is rugged & out every evening .. she doesnt seem out of character at all.. wed night i gave her some warm speedi beat and she gulped it down & was happy enough the next morning ..

spaniel : I hope it is a case of being older ... the other one who's 9 isnt showing any strange signs and she is in the same routine as the eldest.
