New towing laws?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has heard about changes to towing laws that would mean anyone who is towing someone else's horse in their trailer would need specific insurance to cover this...

I dont tow myself, but my friend does (and tows my horse and others), she has read about this in a local horsey mag, but hasnt heard anything about it since. anyone know anything about it? Thanks

I thought it was linked to if you were towing someone elses horse and the owner wasn't with you. Dont know full details though.

Unless its changed, I thought it was if you towed another horse in exchange for money then you need a special licence - doing it for a favour is fine though..

thanks both - from the way she read it, it came across that no matter what reason for towing someone elses horse you had to have insurance even if no money is changing hands. I hope you're both right, and it isnt the case. i'll post an update if i do find anything else out!
