It's not looking very good the jockeys making such an outcry about it?

Surely they should accept the public hold the ultimate power as to the future of racing.

Yes it may be tricky to adapt to new methods, but at the end of the day, the whip use doesn't look good they should be glad it's not been banned completely bar for safety reasons?

It's a fine balance regarding social media. The whip rules have been changed to respond to the criticism.

However, if what was said in the interview is correct then the reporting of multiple jockeys being banned for use of the whip due to difficulty with adapting to the rather different requirements will also not look good on social media.

Personally I'd prefer it banned completely bar for safety reasons (e.g horse swerving)

I've always said I would much prefer all races to be run like the Conditional/Apprentice Hand And Heels races. It makes sense as it allows the stick for safety but not to be used kind of thing.

All bar 1 of our lads don't turn their stick any more and havent done since this rule was first spoken about. A couple of times they have fallen foul of hitting them in the wrong place purely because they couldn't physically reach the arse of the giant horses without falling out the back door doing so.

Hands and heels races look so much better, there's no need for whips bar for safety, and everyone would be on the same standings of methods they can use.

Saw in one of the races today horse clearly had no chance and was a bit detached but the jockey still smacks it, why??

Would stop the not pleasant viewing of tired horses clearly trying their best being whipped too.
