:) Well after the turbulent times of Saturday and Sunday I think the lad is settling down.
His turnout yesterday was uneventful and today he went out to his paddock with none of his friends nearby. He whinnied a couple of times but that was about it so the nightmares of him jumping out were pointless.

I have not ridden him yet but have lunged him each day and each day he is a little calmer although today a gate crashed up against the indoor area as he was going past and he got quite hiper but then it was a hell of a crash and he couldnt see what made it. The way I look at it is if my nerves are shot then calmly working on the lunge and building up to riding will suit us best.

He is more settled in his stable his droppings werent marched around and stirred up in his bed and he now stands very happily tied outside his stable having a little kip while I muck out.

I took my keys back to the old yard today and I must admit I didnt feel the slightest bit at home there.

Most of its happy but girls at old yard said the sooner I ride him the better. But in my way of thinking if he has reverted to childhood what is the point on sitting on him until he has got used to his new environment I believe with him and me we both have to feel settled and relaxed and he doesnt feel that way yet and I certainly dont!!:o

I have had horses arrive here who are traumatised by leaving their old homes and friends. I would (personally) not ride a horse until it was settled but then I am very cautious.

I think you think right - you take your time, there's no rush at all. You both have to settle in and stuff, and then it's will be all go - another few weeks and you'll be wondering what the worry was for ! So glad it's going well. sm x
