New Zealand rug maker?

When you say new zealand do you just mean waterproof outdoor rug? There aren't too many UK makers of horse rugs now, most have moved to china. The only possible ones who I think make at least some outdoor rugs in the uk are Fal (although they import some I think) and Lansdown. Could be others but I'm not aware of them. Even aerborn have closed their factory now I believe.

Any particular reason why you want a uk maker?

Pretty sad old state of affairs isn't it. We used to make them but stopped about 6 years ago when we realised you just can't compete. The chestnut in my siggy is wearing one our old ones lol.

What about thermatex, do they do an outdoor? I think they are in wales maybe
 
its more the material and the skill of the maker i was after.
we used to have a local rug maker who used a heavy canvas and would make rugs to measure, i wanted one to make me a swag, its a sort of outdoor all weather ozzy sleeping bag
 
If you feel like the challenge, you could make your own? It's possible to buy new zealand rug canvas for about £6 a meter. Some saddlers might take it on and make to order as they have the sturdy sewing machines etc.
