Hello all, as I am a newbie i thought I would introduce my girl before asking questions and posting replies :) I will also apologise for the picture overload :o

Her name is Kc and she is a bugger!:p

She is a pedigree staffie although looks funky due to her attrocious breeding  however I love her anyway :D

She was 7yrs old in February and I have had her since a pup. Her favourite thing is a ball whatever size or shape - even if it is only half a tennis ball it is still a worthy play thing!

We completed the Good Citizen bronze, silver and gold awards and also used to train and compete at agility. Unfortunately we had to give up due to her feet problems :(

So thats enough waffle, here are some pics......

As a tiny 6 weeks old approx (she was the tiny runty one)

Hello to KC (and to you!!) She's a lovely girl, those pics are cracking! What's been up with her feet? (Not that I'll be any help, but someone else is bound to know something!) :D

Thanks you :)

She has had a total of 7 claws (including nail beds) removed from her front feet (most at different times), mainly due to her bad conformation and her arthritis in her wrist. With her movement she doesn't always pick up her front feet so walking on many surfaces (or running to much) will cause the front/tops of her toes to bleed and send her lame :( Also due to the claws and part of the toe being removed her feet are soft and sometimes blister if she does too much :(

It started with a nail bed infection when she caught a claw and the new claw grew and fell out so had to have nail bed removed with part of the toe!

Oh my word, the poor wee scone! I've never heard of anything like that before, do your vets think it's likely to happen to all her paws, or will she be fine now after having the 7 claws removed? Hope it's the second, she looks such a happy soul! :)

Nope she *should* be ok :) Each claw was only removed due to her catching them and getting infection in the nail bed, however after the second one I knew the score so if she caught a claw she got booked straight in for an operation  The last one was removed more than a year ago now so hopefully she will be ok :) The back feet/claws have seemed to be ok, although she is now showing bad signs of a neuro/nerve degeneration in the back end (vet likened it to CDRM in GSD's) :(

Kc is SUCH a happy chatty little girl and always ready to see friends and play but has to be restricted a lot - like no throwing balls for her, although a ball on rope she will swing for herself :D

I adore her but from everything she has been dealt, I would not get a runty inbred dog again :rolleyes:

She also has suffered a lot of tummy problems like colitis and gastro intestinal ones! Also had anal glands removed after too many bottom infections  so she is NOT a lucky pup :o and totally uninsurable now too

Bless her!!
Big hello to you and Kc :)
she's an absolute beauty!!!
