Hi all
Looking forward to getting useful tips from you as I'm a 'mature lady rider' getting back in the saddle after many years! I used to ride with Noah before he got too busy building his ark!...looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi JenniD, I'm a very 'mature lady rider' who got back in the saddle twenty months ago after a break of 47ish years, the Ark was still in its planning stage :D. Enjoy your return!

Well good for you! Tomorrow I'm going for a lesson to see how my balance is. All I want to do is to go on gentle hacks and enjoy myself. I'm 66 next month but all the time I can swing my leg over a saddle I will! I have plenty of support from hubby my daughter and friends. A neighbour who is 70 has just bought her first horse. She's having a wonderful time. Your post is a confidence giver. Thank you Rumtytum.

People like you and your 70 yo friend give me the encouragement to carry on! I'm 63 and have lessons at a really friendly riding school. I love 'my' school horse to bits and with guidance from a patient instructor we've won a few rosettes at low level dressage, goodness knows how! Much as I enjoy lessons, the hour afterwards is possibly even better - all alone with my boy, grooming him while he munches on his haynet. I'm so looking forward to reading your posts and knowing how you get along.

What a terrific achievement! You must be so proud of yourself and your horse. I too am looking forward to hearing all about you and your horse. If I can achieve half of what you've done, I'll be happy. I have a lesson today, so the proof of the pudding etc! There's something about the smell of good hay and a warm horse isn't there? They should bottle it! I'll let you know how I get on. Have a good day. We have clear skies and sunshine in Somerset.

I don't know how we got the rosettes as I am a rubbish rider and Flyte is 18 and hates schooling... Yes please let me know ALL about your lesson, it's lovely to have someone of the same age and standard to chat to. After my sessions the rest of the world must think I stink but for me horsey smells are the best in the world.

If people think you stink then I'm sure it's only jealousy! And I'm sure you're not a rubbish rider. If you were watching me today, let me assure you that I'll make you look extremely bright..haha. Flyte sounds lovely. Just the right age too. Been there, done that and got all the t/shirts and the mugs. I'll let you know how I get on. I've posted on the New Riders thread as I don't think I can post here indefinitely. Have a lovely day.
