Newbie needs advice

Hi am new on here and need expert advice, have a 4yr old gypsy cob, bought him in sept as just broken,started riding him in april ,just hacking in walk and trot,he is nice and responsive,good in most traffic,goes alone or in company,has been ridden 3-4 days per week. He has now had a week off due to family commitments,do I leave him for a few more weeks before resuming work or shall I carry on? Have never brought on a pony before so don't want to sour him too early, he is willing and keen to go out but doesn't enjoy the heat.

Can you ride early or late? It was lovely and cool at 7.30 this morning. I don't see why you shouldn't continue doing what you've been doing. The time to give him a break (if you want to) is when we get the dreadful winter weather and long nights.
