newbie - travel boots

Hi, I have a youngster and wondered (prob very novice question) when do you put travel boots on - in the stable and then load or in the trailer?? we are doing in hand next year.

I put them on when he is tied up on the yard along with the tail bandage and sheet (if needed) then load him

We don't use travel boots as often they can cause horses to worry as they feel very odd on their legs. Wraps might be better if you wanted to give some protection. They don't come up as high and fit more snugly than boots so less likely to slip.
