Hi,

I'm chanel, i'm a complete newbie to this site and would love some information. I love horse riding, take occasional lessons (i'm 22) and took regular lessons from the age 10-17years regularly so I wouldn't consider myself a beginner but definately a novice rider. I would love to ride regularly without the commitment of having a horse at this time and would love some info on how to do this. I'm a veterinary nurse (small animal only) hence why I don't want to take on the commitment just now as work hours can be very irregular. Do people make arrangements where you can go ride without actually taking a horse out on loan or whats the best way to approach the situation? Would love any information you could provide....thanks. Oh and i live just outside inverness.

You could look into a flexible share option if the owner didn't mind you varying your days to suit your work schedule and if you're able to contribute a little towards the upkeep each week...

Or perhaps see if anyone needs a rider to help exercise their horse(s)... I have had a similar arrangement with a student who takes my TB out for a bazz when she can... It's doing me a favour so I'm just happy for her to carry on around her studies...

Thanks for your reply, I'm more than wiling to contribute to costs etc, like I say it's purely time related that I would hate to make a full time commitment that I couldn't keep. Is there anywhere particular that people could recommend me starting out at that end of the woods? Im originally from central scotland and makng the move to inverness in June. I'm currently in the Cayman Islands for work so just trying to explore my options now :-)
 
There are people who look for riders but most would appreciate the help with stable jobs in return and perhaps a little help financially!

Many people can be flexible with sharing and I found this a really good way to get into the horsey world beyond the riding school.
