Unless your horse is hogged then it is polite, some hunts don't bother for autumn hunting but TBH I always prefer to. It is considered courteous to your host.

For autumn hunting round here nobody plaits their horses, not even the hunt horses.

I havnt seen any horses plaited for autumn cubbing, agree with combat-claire not even the hunt horses. We start plaiting from opening meet onwards. Hope you have a good day x

Bit off the subject but I got told by an old timer huntsman that there was no need to plait if you go with any of the Leics packs, does anyone know if this is urban myth or quite true? To point out both of us do still plait but i was just curious.
