Have just done a full clip on my T.B. She's in at night and currently uses a heavy weight Rambo with neck cover.

Do you consider this would be warm enough for her, any suggestions please

had a full clip on tuesday, he wore a very thinck rug without neck cover, and was cold, s now has a thinner rug with neck and amedium weight underneath...

the rug you've got should be fine xx

i would say yes pop him a little extra on,
when i clipped a few weeks ago i popped him a wool day rug on under his normal rugs.
i love clipped horses so easy to keep clean!

I add an extra layer once I've just clipped, until the hair has grown in a little. But I would think the rug she has would be warm enough (not sure where you are) its pretty mild just now.

All three,at once? How big are the rugs?

I think it would be better to put a little bit more on, you can always change it the next night if too warm.

I always decrease the weight of rugs a week beforehand and then put the heaviest back on once they have been reclipped. Bailey (tb) lives out 24/7 fully clipped in his heavy weight rambo with neck and is always toasty warm.

Thanks everyone. I had put her in a lighter weight rambo for a week before and after clipping her heavy weight one on.

This morning she was as warm as toast and the weather is mild at the moment. When it turns frosty I will increase the rugs at night and if necessary in the day.

There was'nt an awful lot of hair that came off and the lady who came and clipped was surprised and said ponies shed three times more
