News from Vet!

Hi all, as i have said before my horse has been slighty under weight since i got him, he was very poor infact when i got him, but he has improved in that last few months, but we not have seemed to hit a brick wall.

So the vet was coming to our yard so why he was there he gave Billy a blood test, he rang on Friday to say that he does have some liver damage, but not to panic, and that he will be coming back in two weeks to see how he is and take another sample!

Now i have been reading up about this over the weekend, but just wanted to no if anyone elses horse has had liver danage or liver disease? An is there anything at all i can do to help??

Has he ever been grazed with sheep or cattle? If so he may have picked up a bit of liver fluke.
Treatment is easy, just worm with NIlzan Gold. Id question why your vet would take another sample without giving some kind of treatment first.

Could be ragwort poisoning. If the horse has been very poor then he could have eaten ragwort and this would affect his liver.
