Hi, Buying a property with land ( but no stables) and moving up from Yorkshire. Tell me every thing you know about the area that will help us, please. Bringing with us two horses and two ponies. Thanks.

Sorry not much help as the only thing I know is that Wigtown has a lot of bookshops!

I'm not in the immediate area (40/50 miles north east) but Dumfries and Galloway as a whole is a lovely area. Very rural and a LOT of horses around so there's quite a lot going on all year round. Generally speaking it seems to be a relatively cheap place to live/ keep horses, it is however very wet at times!
