To those please who have their 7.5 tonne lorries insured with NFU. I have just taken out a policy with them and the policy statement says that the vehicle weight is 8 tonnes. I have queried this and been told by them that it is a rounded up figure. They obviously have the registration details and make/type etc of vehicle but this just seems odd to me. Can anyone else please check a recent policy and let me know what theirs says?

Thanks for that - mind at rest about that. They came in cheaper on mine and have read good things on here about their rescue cover service.

Hi HP :) Breakdown service is fantastic. Used it a couple of years ago, luckily only a fallen off exhaust. Sorted within the hour, breakdown company rang me as soon as I'd got off the phone from NFU then within 10 mins another company rang to see if T wanted transporting if lorry couldn't be fixed. Then they rang again as I was on my way home to see if the lorry was fixable and if they needed to send a horse box out or not.

She didn't know why it was so high either. Was literally £650 before rescue whereas others were £320 including rescue for almost identical policies!

how odd??? Ive insured ours with them and its come to about 320 with the breakdown and thats me and my mum fully comp too on the 6.5ton box? I wonder if the person doing your quote messed up somewhere?

by far the cheapest quote I did get was with anthonydevans but they wanted the premium straight up front

I suspect something did get inputted wrong but she couldn't work it out so as I needed to sort that day I went with one of the other quotes. For the same price as NFU for just me I could have had any driver over 25 fully comp on mine with other insurer through SEIB.
