Today is a day of 'Well Done's'.

Horse injured, vet called, claim made, claim paid.

No fuss, no quibble - just a cheque.

Result!

Yes, they are very good aren't they ? I lost my horse last month. There was no problem, they paid the vets, and they paid the mortality claim.

nfu are fab. iv just made a claim thats on going and the bill is upto £500 already so im hoping it will be straight forward for this one, the last one was but it was a very small claim.

I've just made my first insurance claim, with NFU, and it was totally hassle free and easy. Big thumbs up!

They are very good - slightly more expensive than some other insurers but you get what you pay for! I claimed for C's colic and it was very hassle free :)

I'm now with them. Never had to claim a penny in over 30 yrs of horse ownership so if I do have to claim hope it's as hassle free. I could have bought a really special geegee with all the premiums I've paid but then s*d's law!!!

My bill is at about £3500 last time i had a vet bill and they've paid up so far, no questions asked! Excellent!

They are brill. The only time that we disagreed with something was when my gelding coliced and due to this and a whole heap of other issues (that the insurance where unaware of) it was decided to PTS. NFU disagreed and refused to pay for the euthanasia costs, nothing I could say would change their mind as they felt we should have operated....... you win some you loose some.

BTW I am still with NFU!!

Ive had 4 claims in the last 2 years and have only been with them 3 years (3 due to my now PTS TB), they never asked any questions and were fab at alot of very distressing times.

They have put my excess up to £200 as a result, but i cannot blame them. Total claims i have recieved from them is about £15k!

They've always been great for me...I even had an unsolicited call from them yesterday apologising for the delay of issuing a cheque for euthanasia as they are waiting for the vet's report...the girl at the other end of the phone could not have handled a potentially difficult call better.

I've been with them with all my horses - my mare (had her 15 years - my one special horse of a lifetime!) had to have emergency surgery on her leg - £2.5k later and NFU were amazing the whole way through. Would recommend them to anyone!

And she's sound and hunting/team chasing again now!! :)

Nfu have always been good for me.
Ive mane a few huge claims!

I dont think they are that expensive petplan has that reputation.

You get what you pay for though.
Dont EVER go with E and L.
The problems people have had with them!

Our vets insist you pay the bill first as they are fed up of waiting for E and L to pay up.

NFU have paid out a fortune for Be's vet bills and continue to do so. I really don't think I'll ever insure with anyone else after their fantastic service, the staff are lovely too :)

Oh yes big thumbs up they were brilliant when I had Cindy PTS even their Assessor was wonderful never quibbled at all always recommend them.

I am onto my 3rd claim in 3-4months with NFU!! Had to claim in March as my mare had a reoccuring abscess under her chin which has cleared up and not come back for about 2months now. The second claim was for sending my mare to a hospital at Newmarket as she had a sore back and needed xrays. Then the last one just this week is my mare had an allergic reaction to something and her chest area and front legs swelled up so she looked like a hippo and needed steroids - this one is still ongoing.

NFU are fab and havent quibbled about anything. I'm guessing they might want to put my premiums up when I renew next year though but hopefully I wont need to claim anymore :(

Ok, going against the grain but, phoned them to try and insure mine with them, the didn't pick up the phone for days and when they did said I had to have another 5 stage vetting on my horse before they would cover her (despite no previous claims for that horse and no health problems) and then I needed another every year. Do they always do this? For the money I would spend on vetting I thought I may as well stay with who I've got and pay slightly extra as the total would be cheaper, and I've never had any bad experiences with them anyway. Is this normal?

I didnt need a vetting cert, unless a vetting had been carried out in the 30 days previous.

I didnt have a vetting done on the TB (hence the massive claims :( ) and i had the vetting done anyway before i bought the cob.

I have noticed last year at renewal they had changed the policy T & Cs as they must have been having lots of old claims (plus the recession etc).

Amymay, as you know I have had several claims over the last 2 years - they paid out the full amount on 4 claims for Lotto - 20k and they have 3 claims ongoing for Henry, unfortunately it runs out early July but they have said they will cover the operation next week, so I hope that it runs smoothly!! All bills paid no quibbles and they are the most helpful supportive company I know! I have however this time insured for LOU!!! xx

Been with them over 10 years+ now

Had some serious claims the last few years with the ponies - have lost 2 ponies sadly

They have been great with all of it

Sadly claiming again this year again no problems

Excellent customer service as always

Keep up the great service NFU

Never had to claim *touch wood* but every year my premium goes down and they have always been fantastic to deal with.

Isn't it great for once to be able to read loads of good stuff about a company! :)

I've really appreciated the way they've ALWAYS answered the phone quickly, have been clear and helpful when I've asked questions, have been paying vet bills for an ongoing issue all year without hesitation, and although they are querying a claim at the moment they are clear about what they will and won't pay for so it's not as though they are attempting to wriggle out of it. I hope I won't have any other claims, but they have certainly helped during a very stressful time, big thumbs up.
