From the same guy who made "March of the Emperor Penguins" comes "The Fox and the Child", out today!

It does look a bit Disney-esque, I admit, but it's a nice to have a break from the animal abuse stories and besides, it'll make a nice change for some of the contributors here to see a fox without the need to smash its brain in with a shovel.

Take your children to see it!

I think there's hardly any dialogue in the film, so don't get too het up. Cart your kids off to see it skiddaw-laddy: they'll love it!

small problem , its in french !!!! and shouldn't you be addressing the french hunting people who can still hunt foxes (and probably half the cast of the film) and see what they say , it would probably be worse than what we say to you .
REMEMBER THE RAINBOW WARRIOR

Much respect to the Froggies.

One point Reggie, in the trailer it shows a pack of wolves and a lynx after mr foxy, yet Bendy Endy said a pack of wolves would never hunt a fox...either there is no truth to the film..after all a kid and fox best friends...ok.... Or Bendy Endy was spouting rubbish...which is it to be?

Darling, they're ACTORS. It's not real life.

What a disappointing reply.

Did anyone see the film Babe today?

Brought a tear to one's eye. It is enough to turn you Vegan for life! It does make you wonder whether animals are more intelligent that than the hunting fraternity would have us believe.

I think all children should see this film, which would help them to empathise more readily with animals. I am sure even Soggy and Wurzel would shed a tear at some points, like when old Ma, the Ewe is killed by wild Dogs.

Perhaps not!

I saw the film Zulu recently and I must admit the sight of lines of Britush Soldiers gunning down black people reminded me of the ten guns that the judge in the Quantocks case specified have to be emplyed to slaughter flushed out deer under the Hunting Act.

I wonder if you could find it in your heart to contemplate that maybe flushed out wild deer should not have to be killed at all.

Perhaps not!

AAA I hope you are not hoping to make Lord Blairite see some sort of parallel between the aboninable butchering of Zulu warriors by British colonialists in the century before last and the modern efficient procedures required by the Hunting Act to prevent the escape of flushed out wild mammals.

Of course herds of flushed out deer must all be shot. The animals have been disturbed by dopgs and have chosen to run out of cover. It is entirely appropriate that they then all have to be shot.
