Nice, Nasty or just plain Nosey ?

New horse arrived Thursday night, flys around the proverbial cow pat from all the other liveries on the yard. Saddler arrives Fri night, fitting newbie with saddle - I could have sold tickets. First ride on a lesson today - you could not swing a mouse in the viewing box. Now friends I dont mind - you know the ones who you ride out with, go to shows with, share your turning out and catching in with. But random people whom you pass on your way to the muck heap! Do they have no idea how rude they are. One lady gave me a quick fire question round... Name, What has he done, How old, Why have you brought him, which field and the travel boots were not even off. So come on guys is it them being nice, nosey or nasty ??

Nosey, everyone likes to have a good nose at a new ned on the scene, I get what your saying it can def be annoying- I actually still always seem to have an audience when doing anything with the young lad, I'm getting used to it now and starting to ride at socialable hours of the day instead of trying to do everything when no one else is on yard! Is he particualrly spangly? No one watches me ride my other other horses but I get Drop dead fred out and its well, as you say, flies round a cow pat! Take it as a compliment!
 
Hairy Cob - see your point, but no I would not have been posting about that. I just find the "can I have a go" brigade rather annoying and I always answer - Oh can I have a go on your husband, boyfriend then. Its not the newbie (he is very pretty boy though) thats the issue it is the perceived right than anyone from 14 to 60 can ask me any question, listen in on any proffessional advice I am being given, without so much as a bye or leave. We have a mother and daughter on the yard whom never talk to you until you have the vet, they then stand on your stable door and start asking questions, and if they are not at the yard, they march up to you and want to know what has gone on. I have always been very accomodating, but now need to learn "nice" ways of saying bugger off!!!!!!
 
Nosey. I would have sent them packing, I hate hate hate when a new horse is surrounded. I would have told them to back off, the horse has enough bombarding his brain as it is!
 
So long as no-one said anything negative, I would just accept it as nosiness but not meant in a horrible way. I think I would be put off by a lot of attention too. I used to get it when I had my handsome WB and it did freak me out a bit. Everyone on my current yard is lovely though and any interest is always of the friendly variety which is rather nice.
