I know i've moaned about Addington in the past and the crazy number of entries but I just have to say their Derby Day was fantastic.
Super course and well organised.

Only think wrong was I wasn't riding in it

Oh and a really nice touch was creating a seperate little section for day ticket riders in the 90cm due to the numbers involved. No prize money but seperate jump off and rosettes. Very well received.

Sounds excellent. I nearly went along to watch, wished i had really.

Oh nice touch by a usually very tight Addington for DT lol

It was super yesterday and very friendly, hopefully they will run a few more throughout the season??

Vx

Super_Kat.

I'll second that - it was a fantastic day. They put loads of effort into the course and it was really nice to have the use of all the outside warm up arenas so you never felt crowded. I did the first class and had an absolute blast - she was a very good girl and was 3rd so wasn't complaining about £30 either!!
I really hope they do another one.

Sounds great , what was in the course. We are doing a derby at the royal tournament at Melton Mowbray in July for the services. Has anyone done it and what is in that course?

Brace yourself, it was long!! In my class the course was:-
1) log with rail on top -straight on to
2) box thing with rails on top - left handed to
3) parallel with xc type fillers -left again to
4) log with rail on top - straight on to
5) pheasant feeder type thing with rail on top - right handed to
6) sj parallel with some brush in middle - left and out the arena over
7) log -straight on and up
8) bank with tiny rail on top - right
9) down bank to 'derby rails'
10) back in to arena over log -straight onto
11) devils dyke inspired treble with water tray under middle fence - right to
12) water jump (proper one that they could put there feet in although small and with a kind rail in front) - straight on to
13) derby inspired planks ie with 2 short planks side by side, left handed to
14) white gate double - sweeping gallop left handed to
15 ) parallel

Seem to have missed a number somewhere but don't think I've forgotten anything. The other classes all went different routes but pretty much the same fences. We jumped off but the 1m was timed - not sure about the others.

Brilliant fun - you'll love it!

Super Kat was there, we would have said hello if we'd known you were there! She'll not be on the forum as much as I have her shackled to the Yard ! ! !! But I suppose I'll let her on the internet in the evenings! :-)

Well next time you go anywhere in my area look out for a huge bay warmblood (called Talisman) with a long legged blonde rider being shouted at by an old geezer that resembles an emaciated stick insect and that will be me.

Yeah i watched the Royal tournament last year, looked like a fab course to ride around, though it got big!
