Nice piece on Kauto....

A lovely piece..... brought a (happy) tear to my eye!

I agree whole heartedly with this..........."Collett agrees. The idea for dressage was to keep Kauto’s body and brain active. “People trying to belittle the dressage discipline are very small-minded,” she says."

So very true.....for even those wo don't "do" dressage usually do some form of flat work on a daily basis. My old trainer said if worked correctly it was less stress all round for the horse and could keep them comfortable and happy to a good age.

Would love to see a photo of him working........

Best of luck to them all!

Lovely to see, there seemed to be a lot of doubters when his career change was first mentioned fingers crossed all keeps progressing well :)

It did come across a bit Clive Smith getting his side of the story in but whatever, Kauto looks great. He is such a beautiful horse.

Who cares as long as the saddle fits, the horse looked good and has a new string to his bow, a successful racing career and looking well on his way to making a nice riding horse

Dont be so snotty. It was a genuine question. She certainly has a lot of saddles and I had ASSUMED there would be REASON for it.

Barnsby posted on their FB page a couple of weeks ago to say they were going out to measure him and make him a custom fit dressage saddle, maybe it's just not done yet?

Quite sensible to keep him in a gp saddle I'd say...its prob a step too far for his back to go straight from a racing saddle to a dressage one whilst she's trying to build him up.
