Nice to see a terrier doing its job!

A bloke I know from work called me outside the other day and lifted the lid off one of his feedbins where there was a trapped half grown rat. And he tipped the bin up and in went the Bedelington terrier and by God the rat didn't half scream but it was very nice to see a dog actually doing its job!

Riding school I used to go to had trained their terriers to do exactly that job. You'd take them (including a collie) into the haybarns and just say 'rats' and they'd all go nuts, searching for any they could!

We have a Patterdale Terrier who is a fantastic ratter. Goes absolutely wild when he scents them and kills them at super fast speed.

I have a Nova Scotian Duck Toller who is better at catching rats than ducks!
