Nick Gauntlett -Elektron

Just wondering if anyone knows why Elektron has gone to Paul Tapner?

Saw on facebook the following:

Are very excited to welcome Elektron into the team. He was formerly ridden by Nick Gauntlett and has been given to Paul to help with our quest to campain in the 2012 olympics.
Congrats & huge thanks to @nick_gauntlett who has been a thorough gentleman to deal with in difficult situation of relinquishing Elektron.

He had a good Badminton run with Nick and I think Nick and Paul are quite similar type riders? I am guessing that Nick is keeping Chilli Morning which is owned by the same owner?

Educated guess only that the horse would have a better shot at getting to the olympics? even if it is for the aussie team?

Call me a cynic but think there is more to this than meets the eye. Elektron does not strike me as a 2012 horse as he is a big strong horse. I think there are 5 stronger team selections for Australia - Lucinda Fredericks - Prada, Clayton Fredericks - Be My Guest/Bendigo, Sam Griffiths - Happy Times, Stuart Tinney, Shane Rose, Chris Burton, Wendy Schaffer and Megan Jones all have very good horses. You would also think Inonothing will be back by then.
