nightmare trying to buy a new hat!

hats seem to be so ugly these days, i tried loads of styles/brands on at weekend and they are all enormously wide on top of my head, i look like a mushroom!
are ALL hat shells inches thick nowadays?

Yup! I take it your current hat is one of the old versions? I found it a real shock moving up into the mushroom hats, but they really were mushroom hats back when they just started doing the new ones! They have got a lot slimmer nowadays. Have you looked for low profile ones? All mine are: Charles Owen J3 (skull), GPA (for SJ - lovely hat) and a Charles Owen Hampton (velvet).

yes, i didnt ride for 4 years while i was at uni so ive got my old hat still.
oh well, if theyre all like that and its not just that ive become a mutant id better just buy one, but theyre so UGLY!

i dont know what i tried on, i went to robinsons and tried on dozens i didnt know all hats were like that now, i just thought they didnt suit me
