Nikwax- a dumb question...

Does the proofer go in the washing machine dispenser drawer bit or straight into the drum? The bottle is unclear and google has not helped me. Clearly this is too obvious, but not for me!
(I'm doing a coat so dont want to do the sponge way)

I always put it in the fabric conditioner bit in the drawer - not sure if correct or not!

Either in the machine detergent drawer, or straight in the drum. Which ever way you chose, ensure that your machine is free from detergent first - a hot wash on empty and a wipe out of the drawer first should be sufficient. To activate the waterproofing you really need heat once it's done, either mild tumble drying if your machine is robust enough, or leave it in a hot drying room / airing cupboard if you can.

You should wash items in pure soap first and if you buy https://outdoorsmagic.com/article/pure-soap-liquid-form-last/ it usually comes with a small ball shaped container. I use this to hold the re-proofer and put it in the washing machine with the item.
