Nine Hundred Flipping Pounds????

Mine would have been well over that if I'd have bought him direct from the breeder. Paying for the lines/genes and health tests on the parents, but that's no guarantee and I agree some people still crazy prices on and some eejits pay them.

Buyer beware!

Fecking hell man. No wonder dogs are being bred to death.

I suppose noone ever thinks to check why both parents a KCregd but the pup isnt..maybe because its the third litter this year?

I just want a little dog to replace mine when she goes, shes got years left i bet, but she was mking a wheezy sound and i felt sad, but i think i'll stick to scabby terrier crosses.

It's about education. There's a woman on GSD pups on my favourite free website and you want to see the amount of bumph and acronyms on the ad. If you did not know what you were looking for, you'd think it would be impressive and would justify the price-tag.
But things like 'five generations of health tests' - on the dogs behind your two - your two have not had any because you are too tight to pay for them and you just reverse her into him every year.
'WUSV approved' - That. Means. Nothing.
All these ratings that the parents are supposed to have that would have been impossible for them to attain.
It's Bessy vs Bruce on paper, they're farm bred dogs and she should be looking a couple of hundred a pup at most.

Until puppy buyers find out what they should be looking for and match value to money and while chancers keep their prices high until they do, nothing will change.

My MD and his wife just bought a mini dax for £1000  Shes a lovely little thing tho - I'd quite like one if I didn't think I'd end up standing on it or sitting on it :p :D

Sounds fine to me for mini dapple pups,ad does indicate proper rearing and good breeding. You could of course go to a puppy mill..you won`t find dapples though..pay half that and repent at leisure.
However,if you want a rough and tough ,live forever lakie terrier..come to me folks! Love `em.

I was more gobsmacked over prices for 'oops didn't get either of my dogs neutered and now 1 is pregnant' puppies. 1 couple local to me were asking for £150 for a collie mix crossed with some kind of terrier mix puppies :/
I got my black lab pup for less than that, she wasn't KC registered, her mum was a chocolate lab and dad was a working black lab. They were home bred and in fact the lady let us take the pup away without taking any money, for people she had just met she sure trusted us to pay the next week. We thought we were just going for a look, came back with a gorgeous pup :D sent the full amount the next week. She was well looked after, so she wasn't fobbing off a sick puppy onto us either (oh i've become so cynical over the years that hearing that same story i'd be thinking the worst lol)

Glad I have Border Collies then!! It is rare to see the well bred show lines go for more than £500 - £600!! A lot but nothing compared to other breeds. I think the price is lowered by the ISDS working lines (farmers wont pay a fortune) and unregistered lines that there are so many of.

Didn't see the £900 pups but some of the ones at the 7 -8 hundred mark look much better value than some of the cheaper ones.

What sort of idiot falls for lines like "They won't be KC Registered as we want them to go to pet homes only but both mum and dad are full pedigree and KC Registered and are both here for you to see, as they are both family pets. " -want to bet at least one parent has it's registration endorsed?
