My landlord has had our fields limed last month and is coming down next week to put fertilizer on. I dont mind about the 2 fields we dont use and he uses them for haylage for cattle but should I ask him not to do our grazing and hay field????? The grazing field hasnt got brilliant grass and is quite weedy but I have 4 good doers who do fine on it and 2 ponies who I have to watch for laminitis. What will the resulting hay be like from the hay field if it has been fertilized???? I know he wants to maintain the fields in good condition but have I the right to request he doesnt spread nitrogen fertilizer or am I worrying too much? I dont think it will be put on at a high rate as its not going to be used for silaging.

The lime would be ok on all and the nitrogen fertiliser at a low level might be ok for the hay fields altho not sure why he doesnt want to save his money if you dont want it, he could always put it on if you leave! Def not nitrogen fertiliser on the grazing tho.
