Thought some of you might enjoy this.
On thursday the little lunatic was bombing down the main road sans rider, running from a bicycle that spooked him.
Today we were happily popping our first jumps in months (albeit tiny ones) without a bridle! I know in the video we are lacking any sort of impulsion but you take your reins away for the first time and see how much impulsion you want! I was so proud of him though, he didn't hot up, he listened and he was just a little super star. And it meant I couldn't fiddle with his mouth!

I'm worried my repeated 'my pony is awesome, look what dumb stuff we do' threads will get boring, but for the moment i'm so proud of him I have to share it!

This is lovely! You have a lovely position on the flat and over a jump! Is that a dressage saddle at all or do you just jump long?
Lovely to see this video! Really nice, well done xx

Fantastic :) Impulsion looked excellent to me (but then, I have jumped 50cm bridleless while going "slow down, slow down" - horse broke into trot for 2 strides before jump ;) ).
Those cross poles were quite a challenge for first time jumping without bridle - you are brave as well as skilled :D

Love it! Cant wait to try that with my cob, dont have anywhere to try at the moment but am moving tomorrow to a yard with a manege for the first time ever! :):)
Have been practising riding with no contact at all whilst hacking and thats gone very well so we shall see!

I feel really inspired now, keep posting the videos!

Thanks all, hoped you'd enjoy it. It's a thorogood GP saddle, I was just at my slobbing about length. My dodgy disc is playing up a bit so I look a little tense in my back. The end goal is a little SJ course and dressage type test with him wearing nothing. Think that will have to wait til summer when I can do more bareback. Im not a good enough rider to stay on ehen he has a hyper winter moment!
