Do they work?????

What are your experiences with them?? I have heard mixed feelings, some swear by them yet one person got told by her vet that she may as well put her money straight down the drain! What do you think??

Like many things I think it depends, to be honest if a vet recommends bute then I'd give it, there are some horses on it for years with no ill effect and the relief of discomfort takes priority for me over the risk of liver damage.

I have heard that Boswellia is supposed to be as effective as bute, but I think that it is also expensive.

Dont use Devils claw if its for a laminitic as we discoverd the version we had contained sugars!!! I used it for a while before realising and I dont actually know if it worked or not!

A friend of ours has had good results with Alphabute on her aged mare with Arthritis, she's hooning round the field when its takes her fancy now, where as before she was quite stiff and didn't move around the paddock alot unless she really needed to.
