Power cut at the yard! Luckily beds were already mucked out just had to put straw down and get them in to be fed etc but was SO dark!! They're not used to torches so wouldn't come near us till we turned them off and then of course couldn't see! So couldn't have ridden even if i'd wanted to brave it!

Oh dear, nightmare! I didn’t even make it down the yard tonight as there was a tree down on the lane, luckily Gina was at home to do them, she is a saint. They also had a power cut but Dad has a generator.

It took me 1.5 hours to get home with the M20 being closed!

Hopefully it will be back up and working tomorrow! People at my yard were parking their cars so the headlights were shining into their stables so they could muck out lol! I mucked out this morn so was ok, but had to put a new bed down in empty stable for Jiggy as a bit of the roof flew off his stable today!

Lol count yourself lucky you ever have electrcity lol!! Though I suppose you were probably expectin lights when you went down lol which would have made mucking out extremely fun lol!! Hope the power comes back soon!!

Yer no generator for us! The corrigated metal that was on top of the stables roofs (but not fixed to them) flew off and the roof to the hay shed/garage flew off so that's gotta be fixed tomorrow or we'll have rotten hay to use!

Had a massive torch and a small torch would probably have got my car stuck in the mud if i'd tried to drive it into the yard not to mention the big blue lorry and muck trailer being in the way lol!

I never have elec at my stable either...just a stable in the middle of a field! This is my third winter now and use a camping lantern with rechargeable batteries...works a treat!

We have lighting in yard and stabling but none out to the paddocks. As it is generally dark by the time I arrive I bought one of those minor lamp thinks - it has been priceless - both hands free. You just need to remember to take it off before you venture out in public. You look really stupid if you wear one to the supermarket like I did!!!!

Lidl have some excellent torches in this week, not only are they very powerful and recharchable but they have a side light as good as a proper bulb. About ten pounds I think.
At one yard I rented there was no electricity so we used paraffin lamps and lead rope clips so they wouldn't fall over and start a fire.. happy days hey!

Yes but the generator broke and so we had no power to the yard!!! Had to do everything by tourch light, took ages and the horses were desperate to get in to their teas even though they'd only been out for half a day! We've done everything this morning encase we don't have power tonight!

not quiet, but grid overloading, so some power!!. So no lights not working but radio did work
