A yard a friend is at doesn’t allow lungeing in the arena so it doesn’t get messed up. However the Y/O and their friends on the yard lunge their horses in there often and in front of everyone else. I understand the logic of not lunging to protect the arena etc, but for the rule to only apply to some liveries and not others I feel defeats the purpose of the rule. Does anyone else have experience of this? Or any ideas to overcome it. It seems very unfair that liveries who pay the same as each other have to abide by different rules.

It's a "her yard, her rules" situation I'm afraid. There are people who lunge moving around the arena so no area is overworked and people who lunge in a circle, carving a deep track in one place. She's protecting her property as she can't observe the arena at all times.
