I have just bought a nice 12 x 16 stable and would ideally like to run a couple of interior lights and an exterior floodlight from it for those dark winter evenings.

Whats the best way to achieve this?

Get yourself a decent generator (Machine Mart are a good place to look). We run lights, internal and external to our four stables plus I use it to clip as well. Runs on unleaded but doesn't use a lot. Great!

get solar panels that charge batterys up. the are fab. only about £50, they arnt big either! you can run lights off them! il try and find a link that explains it more

I would rather use batteries tbh. I can get them from work v cheap and one of the neighbours is bound to complain about the noise from a genny.

A link would be fab

They will obviously be silent. But I imagine they will run down quick if you don't charge them with solar...

what about some of those push lights. They run on batteries of some description. I have some in my shed so I can see what I am doing in the dark mornings of winter

How far is your field from the house? (asked as you said neighbours would complain) or are they just next to the field?
