No plans for hunting ban vote before 2012

Haha, so nothing to do with right and wrong or what is best for the country… just comes down to the MPs being wined and dined!! To be fair I think they have more important things to be thinking about at the mo, but would be great if they could get it repealed before labour get back in.

Hmm. Although it would be pointless to have a vote and lose it, can't see that achieving anything!

When it comes to Government, nobody can be blamed for cynicism, that I realise, but at least by 2012, we should have our house in order, we should be able to present a UNITED front (vital), and with skilled and well managed leadership, it's the only hope which we have.

Over the last week, there have been some decidedly crack pot thoughts voiced, on this forum. There can be no place for infighting. I would respectfully suggest to everyone, that If you don't agree with the thoughts of another, then argue with them by PM. NOT PUBLICLY!

United, we stand a chance. Divided, we haven't a hope.

Alec.

The ban won't be reversed, those that want to hunt or agree with hunting are in the minority in this country.

Alec, you have to admit hunting will never be the same again- there will be regulations, licences and all sorts of agreements to adhere to.

I have every faith that hunting WILL be the same again. A Hunting Regulatory Authority will do nothing more than enforce good hunting practice, which the good hunts have always done, anyway. The point about the ban is that it is WRONG; it restricts a freedom which we should have, and it does it on spurious grounds, which have been shown to be nonsense and balderdash. So it IS important that this injustice is put right.

That story has to be a great reason for sacking some BBC journalists - what FLUFF! It's a non-story. You can just see it: some editor said, "Oh - it's Opening Meet time - what silly story can we run about hunting! One that doesn't require any journalistic skills - or any effort - just make something up!"

Even if the Conservatives had a majority in the House, a Repeal Bill would NOT be brought forward at this time! Labour has left the country in deep *****, the Government is taking tough action to get it sorted, people are losing their jobs - but gee - let's waste time debating foxhunting!!

No-one with half a brain expected Repeal to be high on the list of Goivernment priorities, even BEFORE we knew we'd have a coalition Government! Once the Government has dragged the country out of the mire Labour left it in, THEN will be the time to repeal - not JUST the Hunting Act but a number of other USELESS laws brought in by Labour.

In the meantime, we get our house in order, continue hunting within the law, and do what we can to educate the public about the downsides of this ill-thought out and ill-crafted bit of legislation!

I agree.

The majority of people are in one minority or another.

Thinking about it, I suppose that you're right!

E_K, thanks for the ALF reference. A strange collection of people, at best. We ought to arrange a transfer of TFC to their site. By the time that he'd organised stars, in place of foul language, most would need help in deciphering the text.

Such secrecy, approaching paranoia! Very strange people, who few could take seriously!

Alec.

We all live in hope there don`t we..oh..but of course I quite forgot ..supposed to be an anti now!:D

Oh come on EK if you are going to do it remember your balaclava at the very least! Tsk can't get the antis these days can you...

Janet as ever you make total sense... Could you possibly be a bit barmy just for a day so we don't get too used to it! At this rate in a months time you will be able to say that grass is pink and we would all agree!

Only times I`ve gone into my ALF:cool: activities..rescueing dogs from really bad situations..must confess to being a tad under dressed and sans balaclava!
Being a daytime operater I rather thought it would be too conspicuous!

Sadly my excursions were unpaid..bit remiss of me there..must enquire about some PAID activity. One COULD even pay one`s sub by operating a couple of days a month "on the other side":D:D:D:D
